Universitat de Barcelona (UB) is celebrating their 10th edition of UniStem Day Event

March 14, 2018

The 10th edition of the UniStem Day Event “the long and fascinating trip of stem cell research” will take place on March 16th 2018 at 9:00 AM. This is an international event for high school students dedicated to the dissemination of stem cell science and research.

The event has reached a thriving international dimension and is currently the largest stem cell event in Europe: more than 70 universities and research centers from 10 European countries (UK, Italy, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Serbia, Spain, Sweden) will run the same event simultaneously, all of them connected by the importance of disseminating scientific knowledge.

Students will have the possibility to attend some very interesting talks by expert scientists and will also have the opportunity to learn about the therapeutic possibilities of stem cells by playing a game to regenerate different organs. They will also have the chance to do a teleconference with international and national institutions where the event is taking place at the same time and also watch a documentary about the state of stem cell research in Spain.

This year 12 Spanish institutions will take part in the event:

Banc de Sang i Teixits

Centro Andaluz de Biología Molecular & Medicina Regenerativa

Centro de Medicina Regenerativa de Barcelona

Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona

Universidad Autónoma de Madrid

Universidad Complutense de Madrid

Universidad de Málaga

Universitat de Barcelona

Universidad de Salamanca

Universidad de Santiago de Compostela

Universidad de Valladolid

UniStem Day is a unique opportunity for students to have a close contact with the scientific community and understand the importance of research in the field of regenerative medicine.
